Farm Fresh Produce

We sell our produce from the farm direct to the public. We take responsibility for our animal welfare and meat handling from start to finish.

Our livestock is naturally fed and reared on the farm, using traditional, non-intensive farming methods. Our animals mature slowly allowing the meat to achieve the highest level of taste and succulence.

Widgits is a traditional grassland livestock farm, situated within the heart of Reading, Berkshire.Although our small farm is not registered as organic, we are fully committed to using free-range methods of farming.

We supply a full range of meat: beef, lamb and pork. It is professionally butchered and carefully packed in boxes that ensures it reaches you in perfect condition. You can choose your own selection of cuts or one of our regular boxes, which offer exceptionally good value.

All the meat is reared on our own farm as we think it is important that you know exactly where your meat comes from. To keep the process as humane as possible and minimise transportation, we use Laverstoke a specialist local abbatoir.

Visit the Farm

These days everyone wants to know what’s in their food. What better way of finding out than coming and seeing for yourself?

Visiting a working farm can help children to learn about how their food is produced and helps reassure you that what you are eating is exactly what it claims to be: genuine outdoor reared meat from animals that are happy, healthy and well cared for.

If you want to see how much care and attention goes into making your order of Widgits Farm meat taste so good, then we would love to welcome you for a visit.

For visits to the farm, please mention this when you order and we’ll arrange a good time to come and see us at work.
